Immigrating to Canada
Moving to a new country! That's something everybody thinks of at one point in their life. Packing up and starting over in a whole new surrounding.
Canada is one of the most popular countries people want to immigrate to but definitely not the easiest to get into. You do have a couple of options depending on your education, work experience, financial situation or family that's already living in Canada. The whole process itself can take years and you are left with uncertainty until you get the final approval. In the end it's all worth it but it can create a lot of stress.
We won't go into details on all the various processes because all that information can be found on the internet. Take a look at the links on the right. We have tried to make an overview of all the important websites for those who are seeking information on their immigration to Canada. If you think we've missed some useful links just drop us a line.
We were fortunate enough to receive a job offer from a Saskatchewan employer which enabled us to fast track our move to Canada through the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP).
We gathered all the necessary documents and completed the application kit with the help of an immigration consultant to make sure we didn't made any mistakes. When working with a consultant or lawyer try to find out if they are reliable because there are a few out there who are taking advantage of unsuspected immigrants. We used the nomination from the SINP to obtain a work permit and we immediately applied for permanent residency (PR). It took us one year to receive our PR status which was a great milestone and a very special moment because we knew we were here to stay.
